When It Rains in Paris – Private Commissioned Artwork

This illustration, titled “When It Rains in Paris,” was created as a private art commission. The client requested a Parisian scene filled with umbrellas. Beyond that, I was given full creative freedom, which made the process especially enjoyable.

I imagined a whimsical Paris afternoon. People walk through the rain under colorful umbrellas while the Arc de Triomphe stands proudly in the background. The scene captures both motion and atmosphere, blending everyday life with a touch of surreal charm.

Knowing the client’s admiration for Bob Dylan, I decided to include a small portrait of him within the artwork. It became a personal surprise that added meaning to the final piece. As a result, the client was both touched and delighted.

The completed illustration was printed on high-quality fine art paper. The final print brings out the subtle textures, pastel tones and intricate linework that define my illustration style.

Private commissions like this are among my favorite projects. They allow me to combine storytelling, symbolism and personal details into a single visual narrative. Each one becomes a unique collaboration between artist and client — and this Parisian moment was truly special.
